What to Do When You Feel Like You Feel Like Giving Up.

There are times in your life that you feel that there is no meaning in what you do or that whatever efforts you may make you will never achieve what you want in life. Below are 7 Simple Steps To Do When You Feel Like Giving Up

1.Focus on Your Motivation.

Ask yourself this question, WHY did I want to achieve this goal in the first place. The goal itself is simply a way of measuring your success. However, the motivation behind the goal is the reason you set out to achieve the goal in the first place. For example, if your goal is to lose 10 pounds (measurement of success), your motivation may be to look fabulous at your next high school reunion. Maybe your goal is to start a home based business (measurement of success). Your motivation may be to live life on your terms. Motivation is what keeps you going when the goal seems impossible to achieve.

2.Focus on Your Faith.

Faith is a tool that gives you the courage to keep going when things get tough. There are many ways to reactivate or strengthen your faith when you feel as if you want to give up on your dreams and quit in the middle of your course. Some of the ways to activate or strengthen your faith are by reading inspirational books by people who have accomplished what you desire to achieve. Sometimes find quotes form the bible or inspirational people to keep you on track.

3. Focus on Your Vision.

Having a clear, precise picture of where you see yourself in the future is essential to achieving your goals. If you don’t know where you are headed, you will either become stuck right where you are year after year (believe me I know what this feels like) or end up someplace you never intended to go. Vision gives you clarity and is a tool to keep you on course when you are faced with too many options.


4. Stand up and fight.

Feeling depressed makes you also feel like staying in bed all day, wearing your pajamas and watching TV all day. As soon as you get this plan about how you’re going to spend your day, change it! Get up, get dressed and go out for a walk. You don’t need to have a particular reason. Just by going out you will already feel better and more active. And the least benefit you’ll get is some fresh air!

5. Rationalize your negative thoughts.

Start by brainstorming all the pessimistic ideas you have about you and your future. When you’re finished, read each idea one by one as if these are another person’s ideas and you are emotionally neutral about them. Now, be honest with yourself! How conscious are these thoughts? Do you see any realistic basis in them? If not, write down your argument, why these ideas are only a creation of your imagination and rationalize them. If you see that they do make sense, then don’t bather by asking why this is happening to you, but ask yourself how you can overcome this situation. Then leave the irrational thoughts behind and work only on the real obstacles. Set the goals you want to achieve and draw your action plan you need to take to overcome the obstacles and get your life where you want it to go.

6. Compliment yourself.

It’s time for you to cheer up! It’s OK if from time to time you overdo it a little bit and you make some compliments to yourself about how good you are at something, what you like about your physical appearance or even what are your personality’s characteristics you love! Compliments never hurt anybody; on the contrary, they help people stay positive and happy! Who cares, if the one who makes compliments to you is yourself?

7. Ask for support.

You don’t have to face a difficult situation on your own. It’s not a weakness to admit that you might need the support and help from your family or friends. Sometimes, you can get the greatest ideas, which you couldn’t think of yourself, from other people! It’s like using the “four eyes principle” in your life; four eyes can see better than two and two minds can think better than one. Of course, you are the one, who knows what works better for you, but you might discover another perspective (a more positive one) from the one you have. Just make sure that you don’t turn to people who are more pessimistic than you are and the only help they can provide you with is their hand to fall off the cliff together.
