How To Relax More And Stress Less
In my continuing quest to find or create simple and effective methods for helping myself and as many other people as possible relax and de-stress, I’ve put together some great tips to use to distress. It’s no secret that in today’s fast-paced society with what I refer to as the “hyper” pace many people now keep, finding ways that work to relax and de-stress is more important than ever.
“The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it.” ~ Sydney J. Harris
Let’s do a quick run through on a few of the best initial steps to take to be successful at any relaxation method:
1) Dedicate a time of day to your relaxation practices. Choose a time that’s most likely to allow you to not be interrupted for any purpose. Make a point of committing to it and do your best to make it a regular part of your daily routine. If you can’t get to it every day, it’s okay. There’s no need to put pressure on yourself. Just try to allow for it at least a few times per week, and remember, it can be as brief as 15 to 20 minutes and still be very effective.
2) Choose a location for your relaxation practices that’s quiet and again will allow you to not be interrupted for that dedicated period of time;
3) Wear comfortable clothing and shut off your electronics (you know the ones I mean-smartphone, T.V., computer);
4) Sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Either is fine-choose whichever position is more comfortable and amenable to your success in relaxing and de-stressing.
Now you’re ready for some quiet and relaxing time to yourself. The first part of meditation is one that I resonate with in terms of helping myself maintain a higher vibration or higher level of relaxed yet enthusiastic positive energy. It’s a common practice for many people for achieving goals and various other endeavors, but I’ve found it’s equally as effective for relaxation and de-stressing. It’s known as visualization. You can always use meditations that are designed to help the find focus.
Remember, as always, if you discover a change in these steps that allows you more success at relaxing or de-stressing, by all means go ahead and use whatever works best for you. What’s most important is that you resonate with it.
Step 1. Once you’re sitting or lying down, comfortable, and ready to begin, close your eyes and take a couple deep breaths in and exhale fully. With your eyes closed, visualize something or some things you really want and are excited about having in your future. For example, it could be a romantic partner, a job, a home, a car, travel, a bigger bank account, new friends, a move to a new location–anything that brings you joy and that you are very excited about manifesting (bringing into your life). Concentrate fully on visualizing whatever it is and feel the excitement, happiness, and joy having it in your life brings.
Step 2. Once the exciting and positive emotions of your visualization are activated, take a few deep breaths and as you inhale, internally say the words “positive energy in,” and when you exhale, internally say the words “tension out.” Just relax as you inhale deeply and say the words, and then exhale fully as you say the words. Take your time and relax and repeat the deep inhale and full exhale with the words a few times or however long you’d like to stay in this restful and peaceful place. When ready, open your eyes, and return to your day relaxed and de-stressed.
That’s it for this simple and effective meditation. If you find there are trigger words you like better to use with your inhale and exhale during the meditation, feel free to use them. Again, make this meditation your own so you get the most benefit from it. With practice, it can activate powerful positive energy and expectation and allow you to completely release any stressful or lower level energy so you can relax and de-stress fully. The more you use it, the better results you will see. By allowing just a few minutes in the morning or evening for this meditation, you can be on your way to more relaxed and restful sleep and also to a clearer mind and a positive outlook for the day.
I hope this simple, meditation works well for you. It has proven itself for me, and I’m happy to share it with you. It’s one of my favorite ways to successfully relax, de-stress, and get the most out of every day.
This is a great time for prayer. Once you get into a truly relaxed state your mind in able to pray in a very deep way. This is how I like to pray. I get very quiet in my mind and then I spend time in prayer. I give blessings and gratitude and then I will pray about my wants and needs.
If you spend the time in meditation and prayer you will find your day going so much better. The more that you do this the more you will be able to live a life of peace. It is such a great way to distress.
Go and have a blessed and peaceful life. It is a choice.
